Well what can I say about the latest edition to our Wedding gowns ..... but wow!!!!! This truly is a beautiful creation. Whether you are a blushing bride or a hot gothic vampire bride, this is the dress for you. The movement is flawless, the textures incredible.

This is the first wedding gown within the Dashwood Collection to have a sculpted jewelled corset, but if bling is not quite your style, these jewels can be removed and the corset will look just as stunning. The textured lace-up back is hand drawn and the detail in the lace is exquisite.

Each week I will be letting you know about the latest additions and timeless classics to the Dashwood collection. This week the dress in the limelight is the beautiful dress worn by the worlds favourite Royal Maid of honour, Pippa Middleton. Dubbed "Her Royal Hotness" this dress is the ultimate of classic, sleek and simple elegance.

While staying as true to the original as possible, the dress has the beautifully drawn buttons which gently run along the spine, down the back of the bodice dipping into the skirt. The Slim tailored look of the original Barton dress is captured complete with cowl neckline, peek-a-boo lace, and finally, delicate cap sleeves. Our depiction of the dress comes with transparent prim lace to add to your shoulders enabling the textured cap sleeve a little extra movement! Our design also has the benefit of three skirt options, giving you the choice of a simple formal dress skirt, a fish tail style skirt or a flex prim skirt. Just choose the style for for you! Only one skirt should be worn at any one time, otherwise there will be a mess of floaty prims, and it wont be pretty!

I am very excited to release this latest dress in my collection. This dress is the answer to how to dress formal in the summer. It is exciting and has sooo much going on!... There is NOTHING boring about the new "Alaina" dress now available at Dashwood. The bodice of the dress is encrusted with sculpty jewels, as well as a rouched mid section which highlights the taffeta fabric texture. Working down the dress we see an explosion of prim skirt.... evoking a pickup bubble skirt this little mini can be worn without the back train if you desire. But why go sans train when that is the best part saved 'til last.... YES ... it's not your eyes deceiving you -- that is leopard print and zebra print peeking through. AVENUE is honored to announce this year’s Relay For Life, AVENUE of Life, kick-off event “Couture of Hope”. Last year our tribute to Alexander McQueen raised over $2,000 usd for Keep A Child Alive and this year we hope break that record for Relay for Life.

With 40 participating designers, fashion bloggers, sponsors, special guests and the dedication of AVENUE staff – “Couture of Hope” is a tribute to the survivors and champions who battle cancer everyday. We challenged this years participating designers to design a couture piece that embodies their vision for a season of hope. We are so thankful for each and every designer participation and know this will be an outstanding tribute for RFL.

The, May 1st, event will open with a preview show of the 40 exclusive designs, followed by an After Party, Date Auction and special guests appearance from Dazzlers Inc. The AVENUE at GOL sim has now been closed to the public in anticipation to Sunday’s events, and we hope you join us to Relay.

Luckily no one reads this blog ... lol... because I am showing a dress here that I hear will be featured on the Cover of Avenue Magazine in the December issue.. that I'm dying to see!!! HURRRY >>> I can't wait any longer!!!

Anyhow, I give you "RAVEN NOIR" a much awaited non-bridal gown with my signature pick-up skirt.

I havent seen too many designers make pickups work for them... Maybe they aren't working for me... because all i'm doing is texturing flat prims.. there is no Sculpty work here... well I will let you decide... but after many people saying they LOVED "ELLA" but weren't getting married... I decided that this Holiday season I would offer a black gown with pickups!!! Alas .. here it is !!!!

An off the shoulder dress crimson painstakingly textured dress.. alll DONE BY ME! and by my own hand!!! Sometimes i will use photos but not this time!!! Since "Scarlet" was sooo popular well loved.. this holdiay.. i created another hand done red gown. This time in a modern silhouette.. .. I'm going to get you a better pic of the bottom.. but there are black sequin snowflakes on the bottom of this dress.

Black Sequin Snowflakes dot the bottom hemline and the flowy prim side slit skirt moves like a feather!.. Pics of that to come as well!

In honor of my love of the whimsical and fantastical (please let that be a word -lol) and of course anything period costume related. So it just seemed natural that after drooling over the costumes, designed by the AMAZING Colleen Atwood, in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" that I would bring my versions to u now!... They are not copies.. they are a very accurate interpretation... I did all the artwork myself, including doing a close study and recreating the pastoral embroidery on the hem of the blue dress. I limited my depictions to a bird, rabbit, and fox. The fabric is textured as a silk chiffon. The red and black dress has some fun Goth elements, lots of layers, and lots of Red Queen of Hearts-ness.

This Picture should evoke Horror and Terror in the hearts and minds of any bride, bride-to-be, or bride-that-was. But alas, in Second Life you can jump in the cool refreshing water in your wedding gown and look GORGEOUS!!! Not to mention, when you jump out of the water... you are instantly dry, your dress doesnt smell of ocean, and you ready as ever to dance the night away! Over the past few months House of Dashwood has been making a few changes in the direction of the line. While most lines usually start with a focus, here at House of Dashwood we experimented a little and tried a few different things before settling on what I knew all along. House of Dashwood will be known from here on out for Bridal and Formal wear. In the small store we will still sell some costumes and swimwear but as a designer I must stay true to what I do best. I hope you will agree with me when you see the latest gowns from House of Dashwood that Bridal is where I belong.

And perhaps like the movie Wall-E came into being many years after its inception, the House of Dashwood period inspired collection will find its way to the market someday as well.

Available NOW at HOUSE OF DASHWOOD!!!...PSSSST....Only $1L on Xstreet for one week!!!!finally was able to fully release these two "amazing" gowns...(if i do say so myself)... I worked hard on the textures for the "Allison" Gown pictured left.... the ballgown..."BELLA" came together better... Slim gowns are much more difficult to do in SL... I think that is why you dont see many of them or the ones you do see just don't look that great!...Well I hope you dont think that about "Allison." The gown moves great...it has two underskirt attachments to fill it out at the bottom. ... Both these gowns are MOD...so you can change the color to your fav if you like...but I thought for winter...i would do WINTER WHITE!!!....

"Bella" is the Poofy Princess Gown to the MAX!!!!...TWO PRIM SKIRTS! The top one is mostly transparent to give an ORGANZA effect. The Beading almost ..(but not..the bodice is opaque...) Again, as with "Allison," "Bella's" Poofy skirts move great!... Havent tested the dancing yet.. will have to do that and i will take some pics!!! Hope you like these winter fantasy gowns by Dashwood!!!

We had a banner Halloween Season.. and since was my first Halloween on Second Life I just want to say to all of you, What a Wonderful Season it is! Some of the best sellers this Halloween included the Dark Fairy, which includes Wings, Silks, and highly detailed bra, panty and garter belt/stockings. Also, for the fairy tale lovers out there - "White as Snow" out did Cinderella 5 to 1.... I know you all looked AMAZING for your Halloween Parties and I know I had an Amazing Halloween. I stand at the precipice of something that will benchmark a great undertaking.... from this point on time will be divided into before the ad and after.... OK, so not really, but I am hoping to get noticed a little bit from it...and what is wrong with that.... While I love designing for myself, I know for a fact that there are people out there who like to wear my clothing. I know this because they have told me....so what is wrong with wanting to spread it around a bit-- get more people wearing this stuff.... It's really CUTE!!! S0 this is a DASHWOOD ORIGINAL design...there is no copying, no inspiration blatantly staring you in the face... this is me...

This is a mesh between formal and casual.... and the reason why i like this for Second Life is that the Virtual World of Second Life is the perfect place to be wearing something that will have hard time fitting in -in the Real World. Where in the Real World could you wear this... only to the Grammys or on an Album cover!... And how many of us really do that....So this is OUR CHANCE to wear something that is a little bit formal and a little casual... that way we still feel like ourselves just a bit "gussied" up!!!

Runway Fashion

Ok, so recently this little dress has been quite the item, and I'm glad for it. It's a little saucy, sexy, and definitely sassy! I am a designer, and I do create my own looks, but when i find something worth doing by another designer I will incorporate a version of that ...or a "knock off" if you will into the collection I sell here in Second Life. For example, this hot little number wasnt exactly "all me" I say "all me" because whilst I did the artwork.... making it my own now.... the design was heavily inspired by a fashion on the Paris runways! I give you...Chrissy!

The Looks of House of Dashwood

Here are a few of the looks I have created. First, is one of my best sellers, I call it "The Duchess" I dont know why exactly other than at my RL job we always name the looks and I think I had just seen the Keira Knightly movie, "The Duchess"

It has cap sleeves that are in a contrast fabric (hint: they are a blown up picture of diamonds) The rest of the dress is a pleated taffeta.

The next look closely resembles the red Satin corset dress worn by Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge. It hugs the body all the way down to the bottom and flares out unlike hers. I love Bows and have to control my use of Bows on dresses, but this one obviously needed one. And if there are other BOW lovers out there I assure you - there will be more dresses with bows!
